The Philanthropist, the Lawyer, and the Musician... W?RUFK

Another Saturday night.. but wait, this started way before dusk...

Email, phone calls, and  some text messages lead to a face-to-face meeting finally; at least it began as face to face, if you get my meaning. The Philanthropist was back in town, or rather the neighboring town, which made it close enough. A phone call or two later, and I was on my way to the city.. and a storage center. Mr P arranged for me to have parking and a private tour.. of his paintings! And, he has some beautiful paintings, I might add. As he held each one under the light (bare bulbs), he explained the history of the painting and the artist.. and himself. Oh, and did I mention the kisses, the lips?
and the adoration? WOWZA...
Philanthropist:
n  , pl -pies
1. the practice of performing charitable or benevolent actions
2. love of mankind in general
I'm liking the definition and I have a much greater appreciation for storage centers. I just hope he is correct about the lack of cameras! The Philanthropist will be back in a few weeks and I do believe I may need another tour ....those benevolent actions are worth the drive.

Fast forward a few hours, and I am home, and ready to go out for the evening. The Musician is playing at a local venue and I am going to listen to the music.. and watch those fingers of his move across a keyboard while I imagine them moving in other places. In fact, I am reading a book where one character plays the other as he would a guitar.. very moving! And, moving on.. I arrive early, am sitting at the bar, ordering a glass of wine when the Lawyer takes notice. Hmmm....

He has money, and is happy to show it to me. He doesn't date because he doesn't feel the need or the inclination to impress others.. wait, what was that money roll about !? And where is that Interrobang when I need it!!?? He wants me to know who he is, when and where he was indicted, and how he got his license back.. because, lawyers, like criminals, are NEVER at fault... am I laughing yet?? Not out loud... and you know, not that he wants a date, but maybe dinner. He slips me his phone number and makes me promise to call. Um, yeah, sure.. right away.. not. Halfway through all this I was saved by a friend who will bear witness should I need one!

And the beat goes on because this IS Saturday night and the day has already been blessed. The Musician ends the evening.. good music, good company (sat with some of his friends), and good wine. No goodnight kiss, but that's ok.. we may well play this one out (pun intended) and see where it all leads.

We have a dinner date on Thursday.. stay tuned...

  1. Wow, sounds like a well played Saturday night! =D But, being a bit of a book nerd....what's the book that you're reading?

  2. I had to go back and reread my own post! the book is called _If I Stay_, by Gayle Forman. It is a very sad, and poignant story, but the part where he 'plays' her body - after she 'plays his' suggest some certain eroticism
